④ OMACHINO Kitokito × Kure (Nishioka Brewery / Kochi Prefecture)

🍽 Venue Introduction | Standing-Style Local Sake & Charcoal Grill Bar

OMACHINO Kitokito reopened in April 2024 as the second location of the popular “Kitokito” in Nakakuma.

Specializing in local sake, Japanese sake from across the nation, charcoal-grilled dishes, and Kochi vegetable cuisine. The first floor features table seating and private rooms, while the second floor offers spacious private rental (10-24 people). Perfect for casual visits or formal gatherings.

🍶 Brewery Introduction: Nishioka Brewery (Nakatosa Town, Kochi)

Founded 1781—one of Kochi’s oldest breweries with over 230 years of history.

Their signature brand “Kure” (久礼) was born in Nakatosa, a town blessed by the Kuroshio Current, featuring sharp, dry flavor. So iconic that locals say, “For authentic Kochi-style dry sake, drink Kure.” Popular with fans both inside and outside the prefecture.

🧂 Appetizer: Beef Tendon Stew OR Potato Salad (Your Choice)

Both options pair perfectly with sake—impossible to stop drinking!

The tiger-striped label on “Kure” made a visual impact, and the standing-bar style sparked lively conversations. Trading appetizers while chatting—that’s the true joy of this event!

⑤ Shikisai × Suigei (Suigei Brewery / Kochi Prefecture)

🍽 Venue Introduction | Reservation-Only Counter Kappo Where You Experience Seasons Through Five Senses

Shikisai (色彩 / “Colors”) is a 6-seat-only, reservation-required counter kappo.

Seasonal ingredients are prepared right before your eyes, letting you experience “taste, aroma, sound, color, and texture”—all five senses of seasonal dining. Each meticulously crafted dish resembles edible art.

🍶 Brewery Introduction: Suigei Brewery (Kochi City, Kochi)

One of Kochi’s representative breweries with signature brand “Suigei” (酔鯨 / Drunken Whale).

Concept: “Sake that accompanies meals”—featuring subtle aroma, sharp dry finish, and robust umami in their “hōjun karakuchi” (芳醇辛口 / aromatic dry) style. It harmonizes with any cuisine, making it the quintessential Kochi sake for pairing with food.

🧂 Appetizer: Matsutake Mushroom Chawanmushi (¥1,000)

One of the venues I wanted to visit most.

A luxurious dish where plump shrimp meets matsutake fragrance. This hidden gem normally serves kaiseki cuisine, and the atmosphere was absolutely sublime.

⑥ Soba to Sake Kogetsu × Bijofu (Hamakawa Shoten / Kochi Prefecture)

🍽 Venue Introduction | Sophisticated Soba Izakaya with 15-25 Sake Varieties on Tap

Soba to Sake Kogetsu (そばと酒 湖月) is an adult soba izakaya celebrating both noodles and sake.

Featuring seasonal Kochi ingredients plus delicacies sourced nationwide, they keep 15-25 sake varieties open at all times—ensuring new discoveries with every visit.

🍶 Brewery Introduction: Hamakawa Shoten (Yasuda Town, Kochi)

Their signature brand “Bijofu” (美丈夫 / “Beautiful & Strong”) is brewed with the theme: “Beautiful, strong, and gentle.”

Using pristine water flowing through mountains, forests, and valleys, plus high-quality rice, they pursue exquisite sake nurtured by Kochi’s nature.

🧂 Appetizer: Mini Soba with Choice of Toppings (¥600) + Chicken Tempura

Perfect finale dish.

The pairing with my beloved “Bijofu Akizake” (autumn sake) was divine—soba’s aroma and sake’s crispness harmonized beautifully. “Soba × Nihonshu” truly is the ultimate combination.

🍶 Summary | Kochi: A City Where Local Sake & Food Create Smiles

Out of 13 participating venues, I visited 6—each with distinct personality and spectacular sake pairings.

What struck me most: Kochi is a city that makes people smile through “local sake and food.”

The evening was filled with discoveries of new flavor marriages and the joyful faces of badge-wearing sake lovers. To the organizers—thank you truly.

I’ll definitely participate again next year! 🍶✨

Why these crawls matter: As a business consultant in Kochi, I see events like Go-Around as economic ecosystem activators—connecting breweries to restaurants, locals to visitors, tradition to innovation. Every ¥800 badge isn’t just admission; it’s investment in community culture. Every pairing conversation is networking. Every smile is brand ambassadorship. This is how local economies thrive. 🍶
