Hello! I’m SacChi, a blogger obsessed with Kochi’s noodle scene.
Today I’m introducing my #1 favorite tsukemen shop in Kochi: Tsukemenya Chiccho (つけ麺屋 ちっちょ).

This is the sister店 of downtown’s “Kuraki,” but I’m firmly Team Chiccho. What sets them apart? House-made noodles using blended domestic wheat with zero additives—the difference is unmistakable.

🍛 Must-Order: Curry Tsukemen & Beef Hormone Tsukemen
The signature Beef Hormone Tsukemen (牛ホルモンつけ麺) has a devoted following.

But my top recommendation? Hands down, the Curry Tsukemen!

Cheese-topped noodles dunked into rich curry dipping sauce create magical synergy. When you pour “追いご飯” (oi-gohan—追加ご飯 / additional rice) into the leftover sauce, it transforms into risotto-like bliss.
⚠️ Pro tip: This often sells out—if you see it on the menu, consider yourself lucky!
🍜 The Chiccho Way: How to Eat Tsukeme(nomal)) Like a Pro
Step-by-step tasting ritual:
1️⃣ First bite: Eat noodles plain to taste the natural sweetness of domestic wheat
2️⃣ The dip: Plunge noodles into dipping sauce and slurp boldly
3️⃣ Halfway point: Squeeze lemon over the noodle side for brightness
4️⃣ Flavor evolution: Customize with tabletop fish powder or the secret “red sauce” (秘伝の赤ダレ)
5️⃣ Grand finale:
- Soup-wari (broth dilution) = FREE
- Gohan-wari (rice addition) = ¥110
- Key technique: Reserve about 1/3 of dipping sauce for this
⚠️ Warning: Order extra-large noodles (特盛) and there won’t be sauce left! (Tested this personally 😅)
