Just a 5-minute drive from Kochi Airport, there’s a seafood hotspot you need to know about—Tosa Kakuhiro Kaisan, located in Yoshikawa Town, Konan City.
Every Saturday from 10:30 AM to 2:00 PM, this local favorite opens its doors for a very special treat: an all-you-can-top kama-age shirasu rice bowl lunch. It’s a dream come true for shirasu lovers!

🐟 Shirasu Bowl Menu & Prices (Tax not included, updated July 2025)

🍚 How It Works & What to Expect
Start by writing your name on the registration sheet at the entrance—staff will call you in order. Even first-timers can feel comfortable, thanks to the helpful and friendly team.
The shop used to be self-service, but now the staff will ask how much rice and shirasu you’d like. Toppings like grated daikon radish and ginger are available, and you can get unlimited refills of everything but the rice!

Since the shirasu is wild-caught, the size and texture vary from day to day—which adds to the charm. The freshly boiled whitebait is soft, fluffy, and packed with umami. You’ll also get a bowl of soup with shirasu and egg, making it a truly satisfying lunch.

🌊 If You’re Lucky, You Might Get Fresh “Dorome” (Raw Shirasu)
If the weather is good and the fishing boats go out that morning, you may get the chance to try dorome, or raw shirasu, caught the same day! Sadly, it was raining on my visit, so no dorome this time—but it’s definitely worth checking for when you go.
🏖 Best Features
On sunny days, you can sit on the terrace and enjoy your meal with a fresh sea breeze. Light, refreshing, and full of flavor, this shirasu rice bowl is ideal for summer—and popular with both locals and tourists alike.
