🏮【Kochi Gourmet】A Hidden Gem for Local Sake and Seasonal Flavors – “Jimi Sousai Tachibana” (Reservation Highly Recommended!)

Real life&food in Kochi

Hello, this is SacChi, your Kochi-based blogger.

Today, I’m thrilled to introduce one of the most memorable restaurants I’ve discovered in Kochi—Jimi Sousai Tachibana (滋味創菜 たちばな)—a recommendation from one of my most gourmet-savvy friends. If you’re looking for an unforgettable dining experience with excellent food and sake, this place is a must-visit.

🍶 Perfect Pairings: Exquisite Local Sake and Delicate Japanese Dishes

The restaurant has a calm, refined Japanese interior and offers an impressive selection of local Kochi sake. Even if you’re not a sake expert, no worries—the chef-owner carefully selects the perfect sake pairing based on the dishes of the day.

🌸 Seasonal Delicacies You’ll Dream About

What sets Tachibana apart is the outstanding quality of its food. Every dish is crafted with seasonal ingredients, and everything we ordered was so delicious, we found ourselves agonizing over what to choose!

Here’s what we enjoyed during our visit:

🐟 Assorted Sashimi: Seared bonito, grilled cutlassfish, red bigeye, horse mackerel, grouper

🐍 Tataki of Raw Moray Eel: A bold and truly Kochi-style delicacy!

🐟 Aji no Namero: Chopped horse mackerel mixed with miso and herbs

🍑 Salad of Ripe Peach, Plum, and Prosciutto: A feast for both the eyes and taste buds

🦪 Rock Oyster: Big, plump, and rich in flavor

🍣 Omakase Nigiri Sushi: The perfect way to end the meal

With so many seasonal offerings, you’ll find new favorites every time you visit. Honestly, the only downside is getting full too soon! The dishware and sake cups are also carefully curated, adding to the charm of the experience.

🍣 Sushi Timing Alert!

Sushi is prepared and served in batches at 7:30 PM and 9:00 PM. If you’d like to enjoy the sushi, make sure to place your order well in advance to catch one of these time slots.

📞 Small and Cozy – Reservations Highly Recommended!

The restaurant is intimate, with only 8 counter seats and two horigotatsu-style tatami tables (for 4 and 6 people). With such limited seating, making a reservation—especially on weekends—is essential. You might get lucky as a solo diner, but that’s rare!
