Hello! I’m SacChi, a blogger based in Kochi.
Today, I’d like to introduce a must-have travel companion for anyone visiting Kochi: the Ryoma Passport. This fun and rewarding stamp rally-style passport lets you collect stamps at various tourist spots while unlocking exclusive benefits—making your trip to Kochi even more exciting!
What Is the Ryoma Passport?
The Ryoma Passport is a stamp rally passport that can be used at sightseeing spots, restaurants, and accommodations across Kochi Prefecture. You collect stamps as you visit participating facilities, and as your collection grows, your passport rank levels up.
The ranks progress as follows:
Blue → Red → Bronze → Silver → Gold.
With each upgrade, the benefits improve—from discounts and free drinks to entry into a prize draw for hotel vouchers!
How Do You Get One?
You can pick up a brochure with an application postcard at places like Kochi Ryoma Airport or the Kochi Travel Plaza in front of JR Kochi Station. After collecting three stamps from tourist spots or restaurants, send in the postcard to receive your official Blue Passport.
Try It Out on Your Trip!
I currently hold a Bronze Passport, and I’m constantly surprised by how many places accept it. It adds an extra layer of fun to your trip—like discovering a hidden perk, such as a free drink or discounted admission.
As your rank increases, however, you’ll need more stamps in each category—sightseeing, accommodations, and experiences—to level up. For locals like me, accommodation stamps are the toughest to earn, so I’m still waiting for the day I finally reach Silver!
If you’re planning a trip to Kochi, I highly recommend picking up a Ryoma Passport and starting your own personal stamp journey!
One tip: instead of searching online for participating locations (the search tool is not very user-friendly), grab a brochure from one of the listed facilities—it’s much easier to use!
